Shiromine-ji is the 81st temple on the Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgrimage, belonging to the Omuro School of Shingon Buddhism. Located on Mt. Shiramine in Sakaide, Kagawa, it was founded in 815. Its principal deity is the Thousand-Armed Kannon, and the grounds host the only imperial mausoleum on the pilgrimage route.

Shiromine-ji's principal deity is Senju Kannon, the Thousand-Armed Kannon Bosatsu.

The temple is protected by Sagami-bō, one of Japan's Eight Great Tengu, a kind-hearted supernatural being who legend says once helped a temple attendant fly through the air to fetch tofu for unexpected guests.
