Enkōji was founded in 1601 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the shogun who established the Tokugawa shogunate.
During peak autumn season (November 10 to December 10), admission jumps from 600 yen to 1,500 yen and requires online reservations. The maple trees here are considered worth the premium price and planning.
