Izumo Daijingu's main festival takes place every year on October 21.

The honden (main sanctuary) is designated an Important Cultural Property, marking it as a protected historic structure.

The shrine houses two mysterious wooden statues from the 9th or 10th century. One likely depicts Ōkuninushi, but the other remains unidentified after over a thousand years, its divine identity lost to time.

Izumo Daijingu is the ichinomiya, or highest-ranked shrine, of former Tanba Province.
