Azabu Hikawa Shrine is about a 10 minute walk uphill from Azabu-Juban Station, so plan for a short climb. It is free to enter, has no restroom, and the shrine office may not always be open, so do not count on getting a goshuin or other services.
The grounds sit slightly above street level, which gives them a surprisingly open feel for central Tokyo. Visitors mention a quiet atmosphere, a fairly spacious precinct, a main hall with a portable shrine storehouse, and a shrine dedicated to Susanoo and also linked to Yamato Takeru. Known as one of Minato Ward’s Seven Lucky Gods shrines, it can be very crowded on New Year’s Day.
