Rokuharamitsu-ji (六波羅蜜寺) is a Buddhist temple in Kyoto’s Higashiyama ward, known for its role in the Shingon-shū Chisan-ha sect and for housing a hidden honzon, the hibutsu statue of Jūichimen Kannon, a National Treasure. Its full name is Fudaraku-san Fumon-in Rokuharamitsu-ji (補陀洛山 普門院 六波羅蜜寺). The temple traces its origins to the Heian period and is linked to the historical Rokuhara district. It later became established as an important temple of the Shingon tradition and remains one of the 33 temples on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, where it is the 17th stop.
