Kagaku-ji

The gate here was moved from Ako Castle and reused as the temple’s main gate, so it is one of the first things to see. If you are driving, the parking area is inside the gate, but the entrance is small and may not suit larger cars.

The temple is linked to the Ako ronin, and visitors mention displays of helmets, swords, and other items inside. If you come toward Ako Castle from this side, you may also get a little of the old castle-town feel along the street.
