Book your stay for a minimum of two nights if possible. Multiple guests noted that a single night feels rushed, especially since the ceremonies and meals are designed as tourist events with 20-30 other visitors.
Plan to visit Okunoin Cemetery early in the morning or late at night rather than during midday hours. Guests specifically mentioned these times are when the cemetery feels most magical.
