Goddess of the Young Sun
Wakahirume no Mikoto is a Shinto kami associated with the young or morning sun. She is regarded as a weaving deity and is connected to Amaterasu, the great solar goddess, possibly as her younger sister or attendant.
She is enshrined at several Shinto sites and is venerated in connection with textile crafts and solar worship. Her role in the divine weaving hall links her to the sacred production of cloth offered to the gods.
Though her mythology is not extensively recorded in the major chronicles, her association with weaving and sunlight has made her a figure of quiet but enduring reverence in the Shinto tradition.
