Dairyu-ji sits at the eastern foot of Shiroyama in Takayama, founded in 1652 by the fourth Kanamori lord Yorinao, whose posthumous name gives the temple its own. It declined after the Kanamori left Hida and was revived as a Soto Zen temple in 1776. The Kanamori graves, a Benten hall of 1801 and a temple gong dated 1289 survive.
