O santuário fica perto do Castelo de Matsumoto, ao longo da margem norte do Rio Metoba, próximo à rua comercial Nawate. Caminhar a partir da saída leste da Estação de Matsumoto é a abordagem mais prática. Ir de carro é complicado, pois o estacionamento no local é muito pequeno, então um estacionamento pago nas proximidades funciona melhor se você chegar de carro.
Quatro divindades são consagradas aqui em conjunto: Amenominakanushi, Takamimusubi, Kamimusubi e Amaterasu, uma combinação considerada rara em todo o país. Um Shokonsha (santuário memorial) e um pequeno santuário Ebisu ficam dentro do recinto, juntamente com um sub-santuário Mitsumine e um ponto de adoração de Ise Jingu.
