The bronze statue of Toyotomi Hideyoshi here was created in 2007, replacing an earlier one melted down for the war effort during the 1940s.

Built in 1879 by imperial decree of Emperor Meiji, the shrine originally stood in Nakanoshima before being relocated to its current location inside Osaka Castle's park in 1961.

The shrine's stone garden, Shuseki-tei, features a ground pattern shaped like Hideyoshi's horse crest and represents a 'stone mountain' inspired by Osaka's development as a port city.

Visitors buy Sennari gourd charms here to pray for career advancement, honoring Hideyoshi's legendary rise from a common foot soldier to ruling all of Japan in a single generation.
