De un vistazo
The shrine's three enshrined deities span completely different domains: Sugawara no Michizane (learning), Hinokagutsuchi (fire), and generations of samurai lords, making it a rare multi-purpose spiritual site.
The shrine sits inside Kaikoen (懐古園), whose name literally means 'garden of reminiscence', turning a place of lost power into a space for remembering the past.

Visit on a weekday or early morning to experience the shrine in relative quiet, since it sits within Kaikoen park and draws steady foot traffic from castle history enthusiasts rather than forming large crowds at any single time.
The shrine occupies the former main bailey of Komoro Castle, so arrive prepared to climb or navigate the elevated terrain of the castle grounds to reach it, and wear sturdy shoes since the path may be uneven depending on season and recent maintenance.
Take time to read the informational plaques at the shrine explaining its 1881 founding and the three categories of deities it honors (Sugawara no Michizane, the fire deity, and the successive Makino clan lords), as this context transforms a small shrine into a meaningful intersection of local history.
