Ena Jinja in Takayama is a candidate for the Ena shrine of the tenth-century Engishiki register and enshrines Takamimusubi. Long known as the Koyasu shrine of childbirth, it was identified and revived in 1815 by the Takayama scholar Tanaka Ohide, who served as its priest; his library storehouse in the grounds is a prefectural historic site.
