The shrine sits within the former Fukui Castle grounds in the city center, so combine your visit with exploration of the surrounding historic area.
Check if the shrine has special events or festivals scheduled, as the site hosts important annual ceremonies and式年大祭 (formal anniversary festivals) with imperial offerings.
Visit the temizuya water pavilion near the entrance to purify your hands and mouth before approaching the altar. Use the provided ladle to rinse your left hand first, then your right hand, and finally rinse your mouth with water cupped in your left hand, spitting to the side rather than back into the fountain.
When you reach the altar, toss a coin into the offering box, ring the bell to greet the deity, bow twice, clap your hands twice to express respect, say a quiet prayer with hands together, and finish with one final bow.

Built in 1943, this shrine's main hall was constructed entirely of cypress wood, making it architecturally unusual for its modern concrete reconstruction after wartime destruction.
Fukui Shrine was completely destroyed in the July 1945 air raid on Fukui, then painstakingly rebuilt starting in 1954 to become a spiritual center for the city's recovery.

入口では、参拝前に手水舎で身を清めてください。左手を洗い、次に右手を洗い、その後左手で水をすくって口をすすぎます。
祭壇では、賽銭箱にコインを入れ、鈴を鳴らし、二礼し、二拍手し、手を合わせて祈り、最後に一礼します。
