Use the Discover homepage

Scan the homepage, choose a direction, and move into the right discovery area.

What this helps you do

  • Use the homepage as a launch point instead of reading every page from the top.
  • Choose whether to explore by place, goshuin, guide, region, pilgrimage, event, or transportation.
  • Move from inspiration into a page that supports an actual visit plan.

The homepage is best when you do not know where to start yet. It gives you a mix of featured content and entry points so you can follow the strongest clue.

Before you start

  • Decide whether you are browsing for inspiration, planning a specific trip, or researching goshuin and culture.
  • Keep the header search available for names you already know.

Product surfaces

Use these entry points before following the steps. Links are shown only for static routes that exist in Goshuin.com.

Steps

  1. Start at the homepage and scan the visible featured sections.
  2. Open a place card when you want to inspect one temple or shrine in detail.
  3. Open /places when you want a fuller list.
  4. Open /goshuin when the design or seal itself is what caught your attention.
  5. Open /articles when you need context before deciding where to go.
  6. Open transportation or pilgrimage links when the route matters more than a single place.

Tips

  • Use the homepage to decide direction, not to finish research.
  • If you see a promising card, open it and then use related sections from the detail page.
  • If you are planning a day in Japan, switch to /map or /prefectures once you have a region in mind.

Troubleshooting

  • If the homepage feels too broad, pick one intent: place, map, goshuin, article, pilgrimage, or transportation.
  • If a carousel does not show enough items, use its See all link or move to the matching hub page.
  • If a featured item looks outdated, open the detail page before reporting it; the full page may have newer context.

Privacy, accuracy, or availability notes

  • Featured sections are discovery shortcuts, not guarantees of current availability.
  • Confirm visit-critical information on place pages and official sources.
  • Homepage content can vary by locale, data availability, and editorial priority.
