Zuiryuji sits on the south side of Takaoka Station, directly opposite the north entrance that leads to Takaoka Castle Park and Imizu Shrine, creating a spiritual axis through the city.

The temple's location became even more prominent after 2015 when Takaoka Station lost its limited express train services to the new Shinkansen station, making Zuiryuji a key destination for visitors.

Takaoka Station has an entrance named specifically after Zuiryuji Temple, marking it as one of the few temples in Japan important enough to name a major railway station entrance after it.

The temple features two separate prayer halls rather than the typical single main hall, along with peaceful gardens dotted with deity statues throughout the grounds.
